What is happening?
- Lehi's people will recieve the gospel from the Gentiles in the later days.
- The gathering of Israel is compared to the olive tree.
- Nephi explains all of this to his doubting brothers.
How does this apply to my life?
- This is a part of the scriptures that is not the easiest thing to understand. Sometimes I feel like Lamen and Lemuel. I complain that I don't recieve a witness, yet I am not asking for it either. I need to go to the Lord and ask Him for the answers I seek.
- How do Lamen and Lemuel feel as their younger brother is explaining all this to them. Do they really care?
- Sometimes I feel like Nephi. I exhort all my energies to eplain the gospel to my friends. I want them to believe. I want them to know the truth. Sometimes they listen, but most of the time they don't. I can't imagine how that must feel trying to do the same thing to your brothers!
Vs. 25- "Wherefore, I, Nephi did exhort them to give heed unto the word of the Lord; yea, I did exhort them with all the energies of my soul, and with all the faculty which I possessed that they would give heed to the word of God and remember to keep his commandments always in all things."
This is the verse I was referencing earlier. I want to give my friends the gospel. I want them to understand and to heed to these words. But sometimes, I can't. I have to do all that I can. Tomorrow, I am going to post something on facebook. I pray that Heavenly Father will give me this opportunity that I might share the gospel with someone who really needs it.
