What is happening?
- Lehi talks about the Savior.
- The Savior shall be baptized by water.
- Nephi is desirous to know of these things, and he recieves his answer.
How does this apply to my life?
- Can I be like Nephi and have the desire to know these things? Not only know them, but see and hear as well?
- I know that these scriptures are fulfilled exactly like Lehi predicts.
- Can I have faith to speak these things and deny them not?
I actually love a few verses from this chapter...
Vs. 17 "And it came to pass after I Nephi, having heard all the words of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he recieved by faith on the Son of God--and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come--I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the pwoer of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who dilgently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that she should manifest himself unto the children of men."
I just love Nephi's faith. It would be really hard to believe in someone who had not even come yet! I cannot even imagine.
Vs. 22 "And the Holy Ghost giveth authority that I should speak these things, and deny them not."
I want this. I wan to be able to speak these things unto the whole world if Heavenly Father will let me! Even though I am not going on a mission right now, I still think that I can bare my testimony of these things to all that will listen. I am just so grateful for my testimony!
