What is happening?
- Alma's people want him to be a king. He refuses, but he does accept the calling of high priest.
- The Lamanites conquer the land of Helam.
- Amulon rules his people.
Vs. 7 "But he said unto them: Behold, it is not expedient that we should have a king; for thus saith the Lord: Ye shall not esteem one flesh above another, or one man shall not think himself above another; therefore I say unto you it is not expedient that ye should have a king."
I am so grateful that we live in a country where we do not have a king. Did the election turn out the way I wanted it to? No. But still. We are so lucky to live in a country that gives us the opportunity to vote for our president instead of being subject to a King.
