What is happening?
- Amalikiah makes the Lamainties go to war against the Nephites.
- He invites the king of the Nephites to come down the mountain to meet him. The king refuses several times.
- Lehonti comes down. He is tricked and then killed. Amalikiah becomes king.
How does this apply to my life?
- Never lower your standards.
Vs. 11 "And it came to pass that when Lehonti received the message he durst not go down to the foot of the mount. And it came to pass that Amalickiah sent again the second time, desiring him to come down. And it came to pass that Lehonti would not; and he sent again the third time."
If only he had refused that last time. Even thuogh temptation knaws at us and tries to get us to come down. We should not. We should keep working. We should never come down.
